Day 1

Arrive Kolkata

On arrival you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure In the evening you will be taken to enjoy dinner and entertainment in the luxury cruise liner sailing in the River Ganges. It is said that Calcutta or Kolkata as it is called now grew along this great river Ganges. There are 54 ghats (quay side) and all have great history and heritage. Some are bathing ghats, some ceremonial ghats where rituals are performed and then Ferry ghat which connects the two banks at various places. Many memorials, markets and monuments are located by the river side, to be explored and experienced. At dinner time you will see the lighted Howrah bridges that will bring in the magic of the evening. You will be welcome aboard with a warm smile and a drink, While sipping your drinks you will be swept away as you cruise through the nocturnal enchantment of the city’s riverside heritage with soothing music. Day 2

In Kolkata

Today morning after breakfast you will proceed for full day sight seeing. Kolkata is a city of the colonial era which at one time was the capital of India. Kolkata is culturally a vibrant city with its blend of British and Indian architecture. Must see sights include Mother’s House headquarters of the International religious congregation of the Missionaries of Charity which has been a home to Mother Teresa and her sisters since 1955, Marble Palace – a nineteenth century palatial mansion built in the Neo classical architecture style which houses many western sculptures, Victorian furniture, paintings by European and Indian artists and many varied artefacts. Then on to Victoria Memorial a large white marble building built between 1906 and 1921 dedicated to Queen Victoria now converted to a museum. You will see the figure of Angel of Victory atop the central dome and surrounding the central dome are allegorical sculptures including Art, architecture, Justice and charity and above the North Porch are Motherhood, Prudence and learning. Visit Parasnath Jain Temple built by Ray Badridas Bahadur in 1867which is one of the most revered shrines of the Jains in Kolkata known for its enthralling beauty with a scenic beautiful garden decorated with glass msaics and silver European styled statues, and St. Paul’s Cathedral, Riverside (Princep Ghat), Jorashankho Thakur Bari (abode of the Nobel Laurate Rabindranath Tagore). Drive Pass : General Post Office, Shaheed Minar, Eden Gardens, Akashvani Bhawan, Writers’ Building, Raj Bhawan, High Court, Maidan, Town Hall, Race Course, Lal Dighi Street, Andrews Church. Drive over : Howrah Bridge or Vidyasagar Setu. Return to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

Day 3

: Kolkata – Bagdogra – Dooars ( flight + 100 kms 2.5 hours)

This morning after breakfast check out of your hotel and you will be transferred to the airport to connect flight to Bagdogra and onto Dooars, Gorumara National Park, On arrival at the airport you will be met by our representative who will assist you for the onward journey to Gorumara/Lataguri via Mahananda Wildlife sanctuary and you will also enjoy the view of the Mountain River Sevoke. You will pass through Coronation Bridge where you will be greeted by monkeys on either side of the road. En route you will have lunch. On arrival at the Hotel you will check in. Post Lunch you will proceed for Jungle Safari in Jeep at the Gorumara Nationalf Park. Gorumara was a reserve forest since 1895 till was declared a Wild life sanctuary in 1949 on account of its breeding population of Rhinocerous. In 1994 the Park was declared an Indian National Park. In the evening take a stroll around your resort. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

Day 4

Dooars (Gorumara)

In the morning after breakfast proceed for sight seeing tour. Visit the Picturesque Samsing, situated at an elevation of 3000 ft the journey to Samsing is most fascinating as you steadily ride uphill through the beautiful tea gardens on the rolling hill slopes. Then further up onto Sunatalekhola where the road ends to a small stream. Then proceed to Jhalong, a hill station near the Indo Bhutan border on the banks of the Jaldhaka river on the way to Bindu. Bindu is the last hamlet of West Bengal encircled with hills of Bhutan and India on the banks of River Jaldakha. The ride through the serpentine hilly road is indeed enjoyable. Return to your hotel. After some time get ready for Gorumara Jeep Safari where you can spot the animals in their natural surroundings. You can see elephant herds, bison, deer or a rhino or perhaps a leopard. In the evening return to the hotel. Enjoy campfire with tribal dance. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5

Dooars (Jaldapara & Chilapata)

Early morning have your breakfast and get ready for your sight seeing tour. Drive to Khayerbari which as an animal rescue centre of Dooars . You will drive through the teak plantation of Khayerbari forest and reach the centre of a small river. The main attraction of the place are the lions and tigers which are kept in a cage where you can ride a battery run small car to see the animals closely. Have your lunch on the way. Post lunch you will visit Jaldapara National Park situated on the banks of the Torsa river comprising of vast grassland with patches of riverine forests. It has the largest population of the Indian one horned rhinos in the state and the forest also has a great variety of beautiful flora and fauna including the savannah grass. Jaldapara is also a paradise for bird watchers. You can sight the Bengal Florican, the Crested eagle, Shikra, Finns weaver, jungle fowl, etc. Visit the Chilapata forest which is an elephant corridor between Jaldapara and Buxa Tiger Reserve. Enjoy an elephant safari in the Jaldapari forest. Then visit the Murti River which divides the continuous stretch of the Gorumara Forest and further downstream meets the river Jaldakha and enters Bangladesh. Return to the resort. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

Day 6

Gorumara – Darjeeling ( 104 kms, 3.5 hours)

This morning after breakfast check out of your hotel and get ready to proceed to Darjeeling, the Queen of the Hills in West Bengal. On arrival in Darjeeling check into your hotel and relax for a while. Then in the evening stroll around the Mall road and indulge in some local shopping. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 7

Darjeeling

This early morning wake up early to go to Tiger Hill to have a lifetime experience of the beautiful sunrise. The Hill is situated at an elevation of 7407 mtrs above sea level and offers an awe inspiring view of the Himalayan range during sunrise. See the world 2 highest Peaks, Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga. The sunrays first embrace these two peaks and gradually spread to the other peaks. On your way back visit the Ghoom Monastery – built in 1875, which is dedicated to Maitreya Buddha, who is believed to be the Buddha to come. The monastery preserves some rare handwritten Buddhist manuscripts, then visit the War Memorial and the Batasia Loop – the place thrugh the Toy train passes in a loop like pattern. Have a 360 degrees view of Darjeeling’s beautiful landscape from this place. At the centre of this loop lies the War Memorial built in honour of Gorkha martyrs who lost their lives during various wars. Return to your hotel and have your breakfast and then again depart for sight seeing. Start by visiting the Peace Pagoda, built in order to bring peace and prosperity in the world. It displays four different forms of Buddha and is open to people from all races and creed. Then take the cable car ride where you will experience the breath taking views of the Himalayas. Then walk through the beautiful Tea Gardens and pick up the best tea in the world. Also visit other attractions like the Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Natural History Museum and the Tenzing and Gumpo Rock. Return to the hotel and after some rest walk around the local market to do some local shopping. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 8

Darjeeling – Kurseong – Darjeeling (30 Kms 1 hr)

Today after breakfast you will proceed to Kurseong (“Land of White Orchids”) another Hill station with lovely tea gardens along the mountain slopes. Forests with variety of flora and fauna, quaint villages, and expectedly many view points, waterfalls, tea estates, temples, churches, museums and many famous historic schools that were established during the British colonial era. You will visit the Eagle’s Craig a lovely view point with a garden with beautiful hedges and flower plantations atop a hill and a watchtower, Dow Hill Park or the Deer park where you could see lot of deer, Dow Hill Forest Museum which preserves exhibits of flora and fauna of the region, Dow Hill Girls School and Victoria Boys school which were set up during the colonial era. Visit another view point Giddapahar where you get a clear view of the snow peaks and also the valley which is awesome. Then visit the Seti Mata Temple which is a Hindu temple of Goddess Durga, then the Netaji Subhash Chandra Museum where you can see nany original furniture used by Netaji including beds, chairs, tables, etc. This is where Subhash Chandra Bose wrote his speech which he delivered as the President of Haripura Congress in 1938. Also visit the Makaibari Tea Estates ( the most famous tea estate) and the Ambootia Shiv Temple ( where the idol is a dead trunk of a tree). Also visit the St.Paul’s Church and St. Andrews Church. Visit the Darjeeling Himalayan Railways Museum comprising of miniature structure of trains, rare pictures and sketches and you can also enjoy toy train rides to nearby places with great scenic views. In the evening return to Darjeeling. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9

Darjeeling – Kalimpong (49 kms 1.50 hours)

Early morning after breakfast today you will proceed by road to Kalimpong, a small hill station known for its tranquility and serene beauty. It s a great city for those who wish to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city life enjoy a calm getaway. Situated at an altitude of 1247 mtrs, Kalimpong’s amazing horticulture and flower markets make it a paradise for nature lovers. On arrival check into your hotel. Later visit the major attractions like Deolo Hill – which is the highest point of Kalimpong surrounded by beautiful flower gardens which will mesmerize you, then Hanuman Mandir, Durpin Monastery, Mangaldham and Pine View Nurseries where you will find variety of Cactus. Return to your hotel and later visit the Flower markets interacting with the pleasant locals. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10

Kalimpong – Bagdogra – Kolkata

This morning after breakfast you will check out of your hotel to get transferred to Bagdogra to connect your flight to Kolkata. On arrival at Kolkata, you will be met by our representation and transferred to your hotel. Check into your hotel. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 11

Depart Kolkata

Today morning after breakfast you will check out of the hotel and will be transferred to the airport to connect flight to your onward destination or back home with fond memories.
