Description

If you are fascinated by Wildlife then spotting the wild cats of Madhya Pradesh will be an exciting adventure along with a visit to the world famous Khajuraho temples known for their exquisite architecture and erotic sculptures. You will explore the Kanha and the Bandhavgarh National Parks, both of which boast of having a good population of tigers. You will visit the Temple town of Khajuraho where you get the opportunity to explore the beauty of the ancient Temples built by the Chandela Kings.

Day 1

Arrive Delhi

On arrival at Delhi International airport you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. He will assist you in the check in process and explain the tour itinerary. Rest of the day is free. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 2

In Delhi

Have your breakfast and then get ready to proceed for full day sight seeing tour of this historic city. Visit Old Delhi known as “Purani Dilli” which houses the exquisitely designed ancient mosques, beautiful gardens and magnificent forts and New Delhi or “Nayi Dilli” comprises of the impressive avenues and impressive building built during the British era. Visit Asia’s largest mosque Masjid-i-Jahan- Numa or Jama Masjid, Red Fort a UNESCO Heritage site built by the Mughal emperors and had been their residence for over 200 years. Then visit Raj Ghat, a memoir dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi where his mortal remains are buried. Then on to Laxmi Narai Temple, adorned with many shrines and fountains and garden, and later visit the Qutab Minar, the tallest minaret in India built by Qutub Uddin Aibak. In the evening pass through the Parliament House, a semi circular building which is used by parliamentarians for conducting government session and meetings by both houses “the Rajya Sabha” (Upper House) and “Lok Sabha” (lower house), and pass through the President’s Estate before concluding your tour for the day. Day 3

Delhi – Nagpur

Today morning after breakfast you will check out of your hotel and will be transferred to the airport to connect your flight to Nagpur – which is the winter capital of Maharashtra. Upon arrival check into your hotel. Rest of the free for independent activities. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 4

Nagpur – Kanha (265 kms. 6 hours approx)

This morning after breakfast you will drive to Kanha National Park - The Park is one of the Tiger Reserves of the country and the largest National Park in Madhya Pradesh spread over an area of 940 sq km. in the Maikal hills, with vast expanse of grassland and forests. The landscapes and the surrounding luxurious meadows along the wooded strands and the dense maroons of forests offer magnanimous sightseeing experience for nature lovers. The land is made further beautiful with natural streams amidst the dense jungle which cleanses the surroundings and makes wildlife unrivalled. The vivacious land has been a source of inspiration for Rudyard Kipling, a famous writer for his brilliant creation “The Jungle Book” Tigers, jackals, wild pigs and the popular Barasingha or Swamp Deer can be spotted in the Kanha Meadows. You will find several species of plants, birds, reptiles and insects. The reserve has fascinated travelers from across the world. You will Explore the length and breadth of this Park. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 5

Kanha

In the morning after your breakfast you will be taken to the National Park to enjoy wild life viewing from the closest in a Jeep safari or elephant safari which are both available in the jungle. Try spotting the Barasingha, Tiger, Cheetal and deer. Elephant safari is the major attraction at Kanha National Park. The elevated plateau of Bamhnidadar is home to Birds of Prey. Animals often gather at the watering holes of Sondar Tank and Babathenga Tank. The park’s flora and fauna are documented in the Park’s Kanha Museum. In the evening to your resort and overnight at the Hotel.

Day 6

Kanha – Bandhavgarh (215 kms. 4.5 hours approx)

This morning after breakfast you will drive to Bandhavgarh, situated in the foothills of the Vindhyaa, a National Park with mythological and legendary significance as the Park derives its name from the most prominent hillock in the area believed to be given by Lord Rama to his brother Laxmana to keep a watch on Lanka (SriLanka). Bandhavgarh truly means “Brother’s Fort”. With a huge biodiversity The Park has one of the highest population of tigers and a large breeding population of leopards and various species of deer. The first white Tiger in this area was captured by Maharaja Martand Singh in 1951 – this tiger is now stuffed and on display in the palace of Maharajas of Rewa. The mix of tropical forest, Sal Trees and grassland in Bandhavgarh park is home to scores of bird species including eagles. To the south of Park lies the remains of the ancient Bandhavgarh Fort. On arrival check into the Jungle resort. Overnight in the resort.

Day 7

Bandhavgarh

Today after breakfast you will proceed to the Bandhavgarh National park. Embark on a Jungle safari in a jeep elephant and look around for the wild inhabitants like tigers, leopards sambhar, wild boar, etc. with the expert assistance of a naturalist. Enjoy the most thrilling ride and return to your hotel. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 8

Bandhavgarh – Khajuraho

In the morning after breakfast today you will proceed to Khajuraho by road. Khajuraho known as the Symbol of Medieval heritage is famous for its Hindu and Jain Temples with erotic art sculptures. The temples were built by the Chandela dynasty between 950 and 1050 and by the 12th century Khajuraho had 85 temples, out of which only 25 temples have survived spread over an area of 6 sq. kms – divided into Western Group and the eastern group. On arrival check into your hotel. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 9

Khajuraho

After your breakfast today you will be taken for a full day sight seeing tour of the Khajuraho temples. Visit the Khajuraho Eastern Group temples. Out of the 7 temples four are Jain temples. Visit Parsavanath, adinath, Shantinath, Ghantai Temples. Also visit the Brahma, Vamana and the Javari temples. The sculptures on the walls of the temples include the cult images, deities, apsaras, exhibiting the desires of common men. Then Visit the Western group Visit the Kandariya Mahadeva temple dedicated to Lord Shiva with 872 statues is decorated with profusion of sculptures with intricate details. Then visit the Chausath Yogini, the Chitragupt temple and the Laxmana temple which is the best preserved structure which took 20 years to build. In the evening you will watch a spectacular dance show depicting different Indian states at Kandariya Art & Culture, or see the Sound and Light show. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 10

Khajuraho – Delhi

Have your breakfast. The morning time is free for your independent activities. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport to board a flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi you will be transferred to your hotel and check in. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11

Depart Delhi

Have breakfast at your hotel. Full day is free for you at leisure or do some last minute shopping. In the evening you will be transferred to the airport to connect flight for your onward destination or back home with everlasting memories.
