The palace is a beautiful blend of Mughal and Rajput styles of architecture, which was Constructed in 1799 by the poet-king Sawai Pratap Singh. The 5 storied structure is made of pink sandstone and has 356 intricately carved jharokhas (windows). It was designed for the women of the royal family to sit in privacy while observing life on the street.

The Royal Observatory – Considered to be the largest of the 5 astronomical observatories built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur. The fort is built in with a mix of Hindu-Muslim style which takes us back to the 17th century. Visit the Jag Mandir or the Hall of victory glittering with mirrors, Jai Mahal and Temple of Kali.

Elephant ride – The Amer Fort elephant ride is a unique experience. One elephant will carry only 2 persons at a time and takes 20-30 minutes depending on the rush, for the elephant to slowly trudge up the hillside to the main courtyard.

Built in 1726 by Sawai Jai Singh II Jaigarh Fort holds great appeal for military lovers. Flanked by towering gateways and watchtowers, it contains the world’s largest cannon – Jaiban at the fort. The cannon has never been fired though, and neither has the fort been captured. As a result the fort has remained intact over its long life, and is very well preserved. In fact, it’s one of the best-preserved military structures of medieval India.

The northern frontier of Jaipur is fortified by Nahargarh Fort, also known as Tiger Fort, is perched high on the rugged Aravali Hills overlooking Jaipur city. The fort was built 1734 by Jai Singh to help defend the city. Later, in 1868 the fort was extended to its present size. Return back to your hotel.

Pushkar Lake – The sacred Pushkar Lake is described as ‘Tirtha Raj’, the king of all pilgrimage sites. No pilgrimage is considered to be complete without a dip in in the holy Pushkar Lake. Semi-circular in shape and about 8-10 metres deep, Pushkar Lake is surrounded by 52 bathing ghats and over 400 temples and is truly a magnificent sight to behold.

Brahma Temple – It is the only temple in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma. Built with marble and decorated with silver coins, this temple can be identified by its red spire and the image of a swan (considered sacred to Lord Brahma).

The Pushkar Fair or Pushkar Camel Fair (Mela) is celebrated every year between October – November for a week. It is one of the world’s largest Camel Fairs. The Camel ride in Pushkar will be optional at additional cost.

Return to Jaipur in the evening.
