Day 1

Arrive Cochin

On arrival you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel. Cochin or Kochi - a vibrant city situated on the south west coast of the Indian Peninsula, is also referred to as the Gateway to Kerala. This beautiful seaside city is flanked by the Western Ghats on the east and the Arabian Sea on the West. Cochin is situated in the Ernakulam district in the state of Kerala and has been a port since 1341, when a flood carved out its harbor and opened it to Arab, Chinese and European Merchants. Called the “Queen of the Arabian Sea Kochi was an important spice trading port from the 14th century onwards. Occupied by the Portuguese in 1503, Kochi was the first European colonies in colonial India. After some time you will first embark on a sight seeing tour of Kochi that will include visit to St. Francis Church built in 1503 by Portuguese Franciscan Friars where Vasco Da Gama was buried for 14 years before his remains were transferred to Lisbon. Next visit will be the Chinese Fishing Nets, which are fixed land installations set up on bamboo and teak poles, which is a unique way of fishing. Close by is the Mattancherry Palace or “Dutch Palace – the central hall on the 1st Floor was the coronation hall of the Rajas of Kochi. The palace with Kerala murals and and Hindu temple art was built by the Portuguese. Visit the Jewish Synagogue, built by the Jewish community of Cochin. and Bolghatty Palace. Thereafter, in the evening enthrall yourself with a special presentation of the colourfully costumed Kathakali Dance Drama of Kerala. This is a mask dance form that is 1500 years old and has 24 mudras expressing the nine emotions of serenity, wonder, kindness, love, valour, fear, contempt, loathing and anger and is usually performed by males. Day 2

Kochi - Alleppey

Today morning after your breakfast you will proceed to Alleppey This morning after your breakfast you will drive to Alleppey – popularly known as the “Venice of the East”. Alleppey makes you experience the true tropical paradise. Alleppey is famous for its rippling blue sea waves kissing the pristine palm fringed beaches, lagoons, canals, criss cross waterways, rivulets and the palm fringed islands. Board your houseboat and spend the rest of the day in the houseboat either idly relaxing on the deck or balcony of the houseboat. The peaceful ride along these palm fringed backwaters with thrilling view of the sunset, lush paddy field, the moonlight and the gentle lapping of water as you meander along on a Kettuvalam ( the traditional rice barges now tastefully converted in houseboats) make it an experience of a lifetime. Dinner and overnight in the houseboat.

Day 3

Alleppey – Kovalam

Today morning after your breakfast you will disembark from the houseboat and will be transferred to Kovalam by road. Kovalam is a beach town by the Arabian Sea in Thiruvananthapuram, famous for its beaches that look very pretty bathed in the warmth of the sun. The cool waters lining these beaches churn out a music that pleases the ears and senses and offers relaxation. On arrival at Kovalam, you will check into your resort. Spend the rest of the day in leisure activities or indulge in some water sports at the beach. You also have the option of easing out your stress by getting a herbal back massage. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 4

In Kovalam

Today morning commences your session with the Ayurveda Doctor you will discuss your ailments, if any, and recommend medicines or therapies thereof, or for a holistic wellness program plan your diet and day’s routine. It is recommended that you should not consume alcohol or tobacco during the days of Ayurvedic Therapy so as to ensure that you are benefitted totally. You are also required to avoid any kind of stress and exertion. Your day’s routine will include stress relieving massages, rejuvenating steam baths and you will learn Yoga from the experts so that you are able to keep yourself fit and healthy and maintain the right body balance. Dinner according to the prescribed diet of the Doctor. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 5

In Kovalam

This will be another day away from the hustle and bustle of the city amidst complete serenity, as you savour the delightful Ayurvedic therapy at the resort. The Ayurvedic spa treatments offered here will surely be an experience of a lifetime. Dinner according to the prescribed diet of the doctor . Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6

In Kovalam

This will be the last day of your Ayurveda therapies, away from the city and amidst the tranquil surroundings of the resort where you will be offered spa treatments, massages and other Ayurvedic delectations to ease your stress and soothe your senses offering you complete rejuvenation. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7

Kovalam – Trivandrum – Departure

Today after breakfast you will be drive to Trivandrum and embark on a sight seeing tour of Trivandrum, also known as Thiruvananthapuram – the capital city of Kerala, which is an epitome of true eternal beauty of Kerala with tranquil surroundings. It is distinguished by its British colonial architecture and many art galleries. Referred to as the “Evergreen City of India by Mahatma Gandhi the city is characterized by its undulating terrain of low coastal hills. You will visit Sree Padmanabhaswami Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, which is one of the 108 Vaishnav shrines of India. Built in the intricate fusion of the indigeneous Kerala and Tamil style of architecture, the temple features high walls and a 16th century Gopuram. The principal deity Lord Vishu is seen in the “Anantha Shayanam” posture, or the “Yogic sleep” on the serpent Adisheshan. Visit the Napier Museum, an art and natural history Museum established in 1855 which houses a rare collection of archaeological and historical artefacts, bronze idols, ancient ornaments, a temple chariot and Ivory carvings. The museum also contains the Sree Chitra art Gallery with works from Raja Ravi Varma and Nicholas Roerich as well as examples of Mughal and Tanjore art.
